Day 41 - Mexico!!!!!

Crossed over to Coronado by ferry.. Great view of downtown from the bay

Left all but one pannier at the hostel in San Diego for the final round trip to the border. I feel light!

Google maps putting it into context. Gulp.

Literally a fence and border control everywhere!

Not quite sure what to do with ourselves at this point!

Just the odd 170 hours done on the bike then

Now where's the bin...

Day 36 & 37 - Refugio state park to Santa Barbara and then to Leo Carillo State Park

Our relaxed 25 mile ride into Santa Barbara got interrupted with a 2 hour plus technical faff..

But we made it and Santa Barbara you are a beautyyyyy

Learning to walk again

And then there were 3. Rory left us at Santa Barbara to fly home.

Cruising through some nice neighborhoods these days!

George swapped his bike...

This is the West coast we had in mind!

Some big naval bases along the way today

Pancake flat for 60 miles.

The evening ride into the state park was right along the coast with a mountain range on the other side.

Day 34 & 35 - San Simeon to Oceano then to

Hot hot day but tailwind helped out

Long and flat roads for a while!

More waiting at stop lights.

Ended up back on the coast in the afternoon. 55 miles done by 4pm, result!

Although turns out we were camping by the busiest road in California. Just so happened we turned up in time for Huckfest.. Interesting.

Next day started very flat again..

Puts some perspective to our location..

Bloody scorching today

George, strawberries and his tan lines

Peanut butter and jam in one jar. Mind blowing

We only eat at the high end establishments..

Soon to be climbing this hill..

View at the top.

The hottest afternoon yet and no shops or proper shade for 20 odd miles, but after a 2 mile 7 degree descent we were done with highway 1 and back on the coast 101 styley..

Very happy to be here
